Richard was diagnosed with Chronic Degenerative Schitsophrenia when he was 16 years old. At the time he was taking his A-levels and was not only a promising mathematician but also a brilliant chess player. He now lives in a long stay psychiatric facility in the North West of England where he will more than likely spend the rest of his life.
